Looking for a current event? A global issue captured in today's headlines? A way to make a difference through community service? An issue that will inspire and bring out the best in your students?

THE ISSUE OF CHILD LABOR: THE LABOR BEHIND THE LABEL is the answer.

This unit puts students on the front line of this compelling and real-world problem. They investigate this issue with a focus on "The Big Picture" and on the clothing, toy, carpet, and chocolate industries. They become activists by working on a Plan of Action to bring about change for children who are powerless.

From The Core Group of YOUTH FOR CHANGE: "Thank you for sparking an everlasting passion inside of us all and for sharing your knowledge about child labor."

As with any KALEIDOSCOPE OF LEARNING curriculum, the unit includes detailed lesson plans for each day with resources listed and samples and printables included.
